Hi, I’m Terri, a 40-something wife and mother of two. I love to read, cook and attempt to make things with wool and needles. Which makes me sound decidedly middle-aged … I guess technically I am!
My reading tastes are varied and I will give pretty much anything a go. I love literary fiction, psychological thrillers, am a complete sucker for a good police procedural (particularly one with a flawed, handsome detective) and will sometimes dip into a bit of magical realism, fantasy and sci-fi. I’m also partial to non-fiction, favouring (mainly human body related) science-y, true crime and nature writing with a sprinkling of memoir. In 2015 I embarked on a mission to read a book by an author from every country in the world … I have to admit I’m making painfully slow progress, but it is certainly an interesting experience! I’m always keen to hear recommendations by authors from far flung countries, so do get in touch if you know of something I might enjoy.
I hate peas. I develop random, inexplicable and frankly-inappropriate-for-a-40something-married-woman crushes on celebrity figures. I am an NHS administrator.I hate injustice. I love guitar rock music. I am not the tidiest person you could ever wish to meet. I was born in Northern Ireland, grew up in South Africa and live in an outer London borough. I learnt to drive at the age of 41.
